The South Pennine Road Club was founded in 1962 for the encouragement of all forms of cycling activity, sporting and recreational, and for the enjoyment of good cycling companionship.
The club is run by its members through a Committee elected annually by the members. The club deals with the necessary administration of liaising with national and other cycling organisations, keeping Club records and membership details and arranging cycling programmes and social activities. The organisation and well-being of the club are controlled by a formal constitution.
