Use it to compliment your road work as a good training session. Then when [...]]]> The Forest Town Track League is now up and running with a growing number of new riders of all abilities. If you have always wondered what it is like to ride on a track then why not give it a go.

Use it to compliment your road work as a good training session. Then when the Derby track is ready you will be able to progress to steeper bankings.

It’s safe environment for all ages from under 12s to veterans, on an outdoor 440m tarmac track with shallow bankings. It’s not like Manchester so don’t expect to see Chris or Victoria there. What you will find is a friendly group of people in a family environment with races run by local volunteers (nothing new there then).

Races start at 7pm with signing on and practice from 6pm.

Race categories are: Freewheelers (kid on freewheeled bikes), U16s on fixed, Seniors on fixed.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a bike as there are few spares available to borrow on the night.

Tea, coffee and cake are available and there’s a bar!

It’s on every Monday night except bank holidays. Keep an eye on the weather though as they don’t ride in torrential rain1

Perhaps not yet, but you might be by 1st July and, by great good fortune, that is when the Club is holding this year’s barbecue at 20 Main Street, Hilton. Event starts at 1600, first bite at 1601.

All categories catered for, usual barbie food and vegetarian specialities; sorry but people who don’t eat cannot be accommodated   The price for this excellent cruisine is £5 per head.
